All information on this site is protected by copyright laws and cannot be sold, published, distributed or used for commercial purposes. Manitoba Blue Cross makes every effort to ensure that current and accurate information is accessible through this site; however, information may be changed at any time without notice. Internet software or transmission problems may produce inaccurate or incomplete copies of information downloaded and displayed on your computer.

We encourage you to use safe computing practices when using the site to protect your personal information. Privacy Agreement

You have the option to use this function of our website (hereinafter known as "Counsellor Connect") to schedule an appointment with an Employee Assistance Counsellor ("Counsellor"). When you use Counsellor Connect, we need your personal information to ensure you are matched with (and can schedule an appointment with) an appropriate Counsellor. Our Privacy Code and our Privacy Policy for mybluecross® provide detailed information about our purposes for collecting, using, disclosing and retaining your personal information and our privacy practices. By indicating your consent below, you confirm that you have reviewed our Privacy Code and online Privacy Policy and consent to our collection, use, disclosure and retention of your personal information as outlined therein. You may withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, but if you do so, you will not be able to use Counsellor Connect to schedule an appointment with a Counsellor. By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, and this Privacy Agreement within, you acknowledge and certify that the information provided is true and accurate.

Why do we collect, use & disclose your personal information?

We collect, use, disclose and retain your personal information to administer the terms of the plan, policy or group policy under which you have coverage, to manage our business (including to protect you and us from error or fraud), and to recommend suitable products and services to you. For more information about our purposes related to the collection, use, disclosure and retention of your personal information, please review our Privacy Code. What personal information do we collect?

We ask for personal information which we determine is reasonably necessary for our purposes when you use Counsellor Connect to schedule an appointment with a Counsellor. This includes contact information (such as your name, date of birth and other contact information), account information linked to your Blue Cross account (such as your certificate number and client number), and other information necessary to match you with an appropriate Counsellor (such as type of counselling).

With whom do we share your personal information?

We do not sell or barter your information. We will only disclose your personal information outside of Manitoba Blue Cross in limited circumstances as outlined in our Privacy Code. This may include disclosure to licensed healthcare professionals and other third parties when required to administer the terms of your plan. We may retain trusted service providers inside and outside of Canada to assist us in our business, and your personal information may be subject to disclosure to law enforcement, other government / regulatory authorities, and other organizations where required or permitted by law, both inside and outside of Canada.

How can you withdraw your consent?

We collect, use, disclose and retain your personal information for the purposes described in our Privacy Code and our Privacy Policy for mybluecross®. You have the option of using Counsellor Connect to schedule an appointment with a Counsellor. Please note, you must provide your consent in order to access Counsellor Connect. Instead of using Counsellor Connect, you may also contact us directly at 204.786.8880 or toll-free 1.800.590.5553 or TTY 204.775.0586.

MBC automatically collects information received from your browser when you visit our website. This includes your IP address, domain name, and the URL of the web page from which you enter our site. Additional information on the pages you visit on our site and the amount of time you spend there is also collected. This information is used to improve the content of our website, customize the content and/or layout of our website for each individual visitor, but is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.

We respect your privacy and will ensure discretion when communicating with you.
Minors must attend with an adult and a signed consent form is required from all parents/guardians prior to the appointment.

Available sessions are shared with other family members on your plan. By selecting yes, you are giving us permission to provide the number of sessions that are remaining in a family plan. No other personal information is released by selecting yes. You have the option to select no. Selecting no will not affect your benefits.
The information entered here is handled in accordance with our privacy code. Limitations to the general rule of confidentiality are those required by law: to report suspected child abuse or neglect, to report suspected abuse under the Protection for Persons in Care Act, to act to prevent harm to self or others, or to comply with court ordered disclosure.
